Onboarding & Exchange—Anthropocene Commons
In preparation for the AC Onboarding & Exchange, this video provides a short overview of the Anthropocene Commons network as well as upcoming network events: John Kim introduces the Anthropocene Commons; Myung-Ae Choi announces the East Asian Environmental History conference at KAIST in Daejeon, Korea; Sarah Lewison, Rebecca Snedeker, and Joe Underhill talk about the Mississippi River Open School; and Jahnavi Phalkey introduces the CARBON exhibition season at Science Gallery Bangalore.
How can we collectively forge pathways of local action to better inhabit our planet? In the ten years of its existence as a platform for experimental knowledge practices, the Anthropocene Curriculum has sparked independent initiatives and collaborations across the world, including in Bengaluru, Cape Town, Chiang Mai, Chicago, Daejeon, Lisbon, Porto Alegre, the Mississippi River watershed, and many other places. By the end of 2022, the Anthropocene Curriculum will conclude as an archive—and enter into a new phase as the Anthropocene Commons.
The Anthropocene Commons is an open network of researchers, educators, activists, artists, and scientists who create shared spaces to imagine and explore transformative pedagogies and research practices for collective action
