The Anthropocene Curriculum is an international long-term project for experimental forms of Anthropocene research and education developed and initiated by Haus der Kulturen der Welt (HKW, Berlin) and the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science (MPIWG, Berlin) in 2013.

Between 2013 and 2022, the development and organization of the project lay with the Department of Literature and Humanities at HKW in collaboration with the research cluster “Anthropocene Formations” at MPIWG and further involved various initiatives and partner institutions worldwide. During this period the project was funded by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media due to a ruling of the German Bundestag, and the Federal Foreign Office.

The Anthropocene Curriculum website archive will now be maintained by the Max Planck Institute of Geoanthropology, with continuing activities of the wider network taking place with a decentralized approach, as the Anthropocene Commons.
