    Mining Conversations

    The Futurepasts of ... Iron

Mining Conversations | The Futurepasts of … invites you to their sixth session – this time on Iron. Mining Conversations are an open monthly online space for exchanges and collaborations across practices, temporalities, and across extraction and energy landscapes.

The next session will take place on November 17, 8pm (CEST), please register via the link here.

Each session connects different perspectives to better understand the social, material, technological, and environmental forces at play. The series seeks to provide the needed space for cross-practice, international and reflective conversations about mining among artists, academics, activists, and other persons interested in mining.
    Next session on ‘Iron’:
    • Júlia Medeiros, urbanist and cultural heritage scholar, MPI of Geoanthropology
    • Shanai Matteson, public artist, writer, organizer, and community-based researcher with Talon Mine Tours and Wildflower Group media collective
    • Karin Reisinger, architect and visual cultures scholar, University of Applied Arts Vienna

The series is hosted by the Max Planck Institute of Geoanthropology and the Anthropocene Commons network.
