Christoph Küffer is a senior scientist at the Department of Environmental Systems Science of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich. He integrates disciplinary, transdisciplinary, and applied work to understand and address rapid and fundamental ecological change in the Anthropocene. His current research concerns species redistributions (including invasive species), global change impacts on mountain ecosystems, biodiversity conservation and novel ecosystems on oceanic islands, and socio-ecological regime shifts. He is also one of the founders of the Swiss Environmental Humanities group and in this context is particularly interested in the role of metaphors and language in research about ecological futures in the Anthropocene. Christoph has been a fellow at Collegium Helveticum and the Center for Interdisciplinary Research at Bielefeld University.
