River Pilgrimage

AC-CS #38835

This case study is an invitation to journey along the Mississippi River as it flows past Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota, in the context of a river-based pedagogy during a global pandemic, located at the epicenter of current debates on racial justice and police violence. River-based programs are inherently about flux, change, and adaptability, and this selection of videos explores the resilience of human and natural communities that inhabit the river and its watershed. In an era of crises, the research also asks, how might we take meaningful action? Led by researcher Joe Underhill, participants include Linda Buturian, Jason Lukasik, Michelle Garvey, Stuart Deets, and students from Augsburg University and the Higher Education Consortium for Urban Affairs (HECUA).
