Artist, activist, and researcher Imani Jacqueline Brown presents an ongoing research project centered on counter-mapping the colonial and ecological violence of the fossil fuel industry. Comprising an experimental film with an accompanying photographic essay, this case study captures fragments from Brown’s research trips and visits home to Louisiana and Minnesota, merging remote sensing and technological lenses with ecological, personal and ancestral perspectives.
