Splitscreen or double video installation on the permaculture cooperative of Somankidi Coura—founded in 1977 in Mali by 14 militant migrant workers from West Africa who met in France in the early 1970s.
The juxtaposition of different geographies, social spaces and temporalities with footage of protagonists and photographs of Bouba Touré reformulates the context of the creation of the community, as well as its daily life and mode of production along the Senegal river.
Produced by DRAC Ile-de-France, Chelles Art Center Les Eglises and director Raphaël Grisey, with photographer and migrant worker Bouba Touré’s working archives
