  Gather for the Natchez Heritage Tour at Natchez Museum of African American History and Culture. With an introduction of local expert, speaker and tour guide Jeremy Houston, and the program for the day, by Natchez Field Station Curator and Researcher Maya Kóvskaya.

  Natchez native Jeremy Houston is co-founder of Miss Lou Heritage Group & Tours, which offers richly contextualized tours of historic Natchez that focus on the African American history and experiences that often omitted, sanitized, or whitewashed by many of the traditional Antebellum Natchez historical tours offered to visitors from around the world. He graduated from Northeast Mississippi Community College in 2007, and is a five-year veteran of the United States Marine Corps, having served in Afghanistan. Jeremy is also Chairman of The National Black United Front Natchez, and has written and performed a series of historical re-enactments, including Narrative of A Natchez Slave, Isabella & The Prince, Hiram & John, and The Lynch’s.

  Arrive and tour the Forks of the Road Slave Market.

  Natchez Heritage Tour Part II

  Continue Natchez Heritage Tour, including Saint Catherine Street Historic Sites, Angelety House, Brumfield School, Dr. John Banks House, Holy Family Catholic Church, and Zio Chapel AME Church.

• 4:45 pm - 5:30 pm

  Tour of Watkins Street Black Cemetery

  Depart Saint Catherine Street and arrive and tour the Watkins Street Black Cemetery.

• 5:45 pm - 6:15 pm

  Performance
