The term “environing” defines the process of humankind impacting nature to form environment. Taking the Philippines of both 1570 and 1980 as examples of how environing media—for example, data, charts, and maps—has shaped our understanding of the world, Environing Media and the Anthropocene explores the colonial implications of these practices and their influence on international environmental policy.
